About The Del-Bar
The Del-Bar has been serving char-broiled steaks on the Parkway since 1943, when Jim and Alice Wimmer bought a small roadside restaurant, and the Wimmer family still runs it, now in its third generation. The Prairie-style building was designed by James Dresser, an apprentice of Frank Lloyd Wright, and the dining room feels intimate and cozy. Prime steaks and seafood are the heart of the menu, and reviewers rave about the prime rib, walleye, oysters and shrimp cocktail. The bar is lively before dinner, with live music in the lounge on Monday and Friday evenings. Book a table ahead, and get there early if you want a bar seat for happy hour.
